What Is Sound Healing?

Sound healing — also called a sound bath — is an immersive, meditative experience where you lie comfortably while therapeutic instruments wash over you with resonant vibrations.

Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, chimes, and other instruments are played around and sometimes on the body. Their frequencies interact with your nervous system, helping to slow brainwaves from the busy beta state into the deeply restorative alpha and theta states — the same states reached in deep meditation and light sleep.

You don't have to do anything. You simply receive. Open heart, open ears.

Deep Stress Relief

Sound vibrations activate the parasympathetic nervous system — your body's natural rest-and-digest mode — encouraging deep relaxation.

Emotional Clarity

Sound frequencies help release emotional blockages stored in the body. Clients often emerge feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves.

Better Sleep

By guiding your brain into theta wave states, sound healing resets sleep patterns disrupted by anxiety and overstimulation. Many attendees report deeper states of rest while sleeping.

What to Expect at Your First Sound Bath

When you arrive, you'll be guided to a comfortable spot on the floor with a yoga mat, blanket, and pillow. You can lie down, sit, or find any position that feels supported.

As the session begins, you'll hear layers of sound — low resonant gongs, shimmering crystal bowls, gentle chimes. There's nothing to do but breathe and let the sound do its work.

Most people drift into a deeply relaxed, dream-like state. Some feel tingling sensations, waves of emotion, or profound stillness. Every experience is valid and unique to you.

Sessions typically last 60–75 minutes. Afterward, we hold space for you to slowly return, journal, or simply sit in the quiet.

Your Questions, Answered

Both — and that's the point. Research in psychoacoustics and neuroscience shows that specific sound frequencies measurably slow brainwave activity, reduce cortisol levels, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. That said, even if you experience it purely as deep relaxation, that alone is profoundly healing for a stressed nervous system. Many people are surprised by how much they feel.
Absolutely — in fact, sound healing is often easier than traditional meditation because you don't have to 'try' to quiet your mind. The sound does that work for you. Many people who struggle with meditation find that a sound bath is the first time they've truly been able to let go.
Not at all. You'll be lying down with your eyes closed for most of the session. There's no performance, no poses, no experience required. Our community is warm, non-judgmental, and genuinely welcoming to first-timers. Many of our regulars came in feeling exactly the way you do right now.
Check our schedule page for current session pricing. Many people feel significant benefits after just one session, though regular attendance (even once or twice a month) tends to compound the effects over time. We offer packages that make it easy to make sound healing a consistent practice without breaking your budget.
That's perfectly fine — and honestly, it happens often. Your body will still receive the benefits of the sound vibrations even while you sleep. Many facilitators consider it a sign that your nervous system is finally getting the rest it needs. There's no wrong way to experience a sound bath.
Sound healing is generally safe for most people. However, if you have a pacemaker, epilepsy, are in your first trimester of pregnancy, or have severe sound sensitivity, please consult your healthcare provider first and let us know when you book. We're happy to discuss any concerns before your session.
